Overview
Blurfold hides faces and readable text in your videos, and every part of that happens on your iPhone. There is no account, no upload and no server — not as a policy choice we could quietly reverse, but because the app contains no networking code at all.
Data We Collect
None. Blurfold collects no personal information, usage data, crash reports or analytics.
- No account or sign-in
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No crash reporting services
- No advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs of any kind
Your Video — On-Device, No Server, Ever
Detection, mosaicing, blurring and export all run locally using Apple’s Vision, AVFoundation and Core Image frameworks. Your video is never uploaded anywhere — not to Apple, not to us, not to anyone. The finished video is written to your photo library only when you tap export yourself.
Face and Text Detection
Faces and readable text are found using Apple’s Vision framework, which runs entirely on your device. Blurfold does not identify anyone: it locates faces in order to cover them, and keeps no record of what it found once you close the video.
Photo Library Access
Blurfold asks for permission to read your photo library so you can choose a video, and to add to it so the finished video can be saved. Both are used only for the video you pick, at the moment you pick it.
What Blurfold Stores
Nothing. The app keeps no preferences, no history and no cache between launches. Close it and there is no record that you used it, beyond the video you chose to save yourself.
Third-Party Services
Blurfold integrates no third-party SDKs, advertising networks or analytics services, and contacts no external service of any kind.
Children’s Privacy
Blurfold does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no information from anyone, this is satisfied by design.
Changes to This Policy
If our privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
