Privacy Policy

Complyshot is designed with privacy as a default, not an afterthought. Capturing, checking, and cropping your passport or visa photo all happen locally on your iPhone; those actions do not upload it. In version 1.0.1 and later, anonymous usage counts and feedback you choose to send can leave the device. Feedback may include images you attach yourself. Version 1.0 does not include these features.

Complyshot measures your face (head height, eye position) and checks focus, lighting and background on your iPhone. Capture, checks and export do not upload your photo. Usage counts contain no photos, face measurements or filenames. An image leaves your device only if you deliberately attach it to feedback and tap Send Feedback.

The photo you capture is saved to your Photos library only when you tap “Save to Photos.” Complyshot does not automatically back up your photo.

Complyshot asks for camera access to take your photo through its guided screen, and for permission to add the finished photo or print sheet to your Photos library. You can also pick an existing photo with the system photo picker; Complyshot only receives the photo you choose. These permissions are used only to read and write files on your device when you ask.

To learn which features are used and where things go wrong, Complyshot sends a few anonymous usage counts to a privacy-focused analytics service in the EU. Each count says only something general, such as a length range or that an export finished, together with a random code for this installation that cannot be traced back to you and is not your Apple ID or advertising identifier.

Events never contain your photos, face measurements, filenames, location, email address or anything you type. They are not linked to your identity, not used for advertising, and not used to track you across apps or websites.

If you open Send Feedback in Complyshot and tap the Send Feedback button, Complyshot sends us a report you started:

• your email address (required), so we can reply
• your message (required)
• up to five optional images you pick — location and other photo details are removed on your iPhone first
• the app version, OS version, device model and locale, which are always included and help us fix problems

A random code made on your iPhone is included only to stop the form from being abused. It is not linked to you and is not kept with your message.

The report travels over an encrypted connection to a private inbox that only the Complyshot team can read. Our hosting provider briefly handles your IP address to block abuse and does not keep the report. Nothing is sent until you tap Send Feedback.

We use feedback only to reply to you and to improve Complyshot — never for advertising — and delete it once it is no longer needed. To have your feedback deleted sooner, email [email protected] with the reference shown after sending.

Saving finished photos is unlocked by a one-time in-app purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or Apple ID. Complyshot checks the purchase on your iPhone with Apple's purchase system and sends anonymous usage events when the offer is shown, a purchase completes or purchases are restored, never what you paid with or who you are.

Complyshot has no advertising networks or tracking services, and its work happens on your iPhone. The only outside services are an analytics service, for the anonymous usage counts described above, and our hosting and messaging providers, only to deliver feedback you choose to send.

The photo requirements Complyshot checks against (head height, background color, image size, etc.) are bundled inside the app itself, sourced from each country's own published guidance. Checking your photo against these requirements never involves sending your photo, or any information about it, to any government, agency, or third party.

Complyshot does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Apart from the anonymous usage counts described above, which identify no one, the app collects nothing unless someone chooses to send feedback; if you believe a child has sent us feedback, email us and we will delete it.

If our privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
