Features

Everything you need, none of the cost

🎬

Multi-Clip Assembly

Import up to 10 clips at once, reorder them, trim each one's start and end, and Captionry stitches them into one continuous video with captions that never straddle a cut.

🎛️

Real Timeline Editor

Split clips, drag captions into place, pinch to resize, scrub the filmstrip — a genuine multi-track timeline, not a single preview screen. Full undo/redo throughout.

🌐

Dual Captions

Add a second, translated caption line in one tap — a primary and a secondary track, styled independently. Reach a wider audience or make language-learning content, fully on-device.

💬

8 Caption Styles

Pop, Karaoke, Clean, Bold Box, Minimal, Neon Glow, Cute Pastel, and Impact Red — plus font, size, color, and background customization on top. Switch anytime before export.

📤

Burned-In Export

Captions are composited directly into the video, frame by frame — not a subtitle track. They show up everywhere, on every app.

🎯

Word-Level Timing

Every caption is timed to the word, not the sentence, so highlights land exactly where the speech does.

💰

Completely Free

Every feature, every style, no watermark. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription.

🔒

Nothing Ever Uploaded

Everything — import, transcription, editing, export — runs locally with no server, not ours, not Apple's. No account, no analytics, no ads — ever.

How It Works

Three steps to captioned

1

Import & assemble

Pick one clip or several from your photo library — reorder and trim each one on the Assemble & Trim screen before they join into a single timeline.

2

Auto-caption & edit on the timeline

Captionry transcribes the audio automatically, then generates captions in your chosen style — 8 to choose from. Add a dual translated line if you want one, then split, trim, and drag captions right on Pro Editor's timeline. The preview updates live as you edit.

3

Fix, export, share

Tap any word to correct it, then export. Captions are baked into the MP4 at full quality — save to Photos or share straight to TikTok, Reels, or Shorts.
