Import up to 10 clips at once, reorder them, trim each one's start and end, and Captionry stitches them into one continuous video with captions that never straddle a cut.
Split clips, drag captions into place, pinch to resize, scrub the filmstrip — a genuine multi-track timeline, not a single preview screen. Full undo/redo throughout.
Two caption lines in any combination: what was said plus a translation, or two translations of it. Translated on your iPhone with Apple's built-in translation, or by AI if you turn it on.
After you allow it once, Captionry sends a request to fix speech-to-text mistakes and translate your caption lines. It includes the caption text with its timing, the languages and any caption rules you saved, plus the video’s length and a random installation code, to count your free minutes. Never video or audio. Turn it off any time in Settings.
Save caption rules, or export SRT/WebVTT/Captionry JSON, edit it elsewhere and import it back. Neither uses Captionry AI minutes.
After you export, your captioned videos are listed in one album. Watch, share or delete them.
Twenty templates, from Pop, Karaoke and Clean Subtitle to Outline, Highlighter, Sunset and Cinema, each with its own font and background, plus size, colour, outline and background controls on top. Switch anytime before export.

On-device captioning, twenty styles, editing and watermark-free export stay free, with no Captionry account. Optional cloud proofreading uses 15 video minutes per UTC calendar month on the free allowance, or 120 video minutes with a subscription. Optional subscription: US$3.99 per month or US$24.99 per year in the U.S.; the App Store shows your local price and renewal terms before you confirm. Using up the allowance pauses cloud proofreading only.
Video and audio stay on your iPhone unless you create a share link. Caption text leaves only after you allow Captionry cloud proofreading, or when you create a share link, as part of that video. Subtitle-file sharing is your choice.
How It Works
Pick one clip or several from your photo library — reorder and trim each one on the Assemble & Trim screen before they join into a single timeline.
Captionry transcribes the audio on your iPhone, then generates captions in your chosen style — 20 to choose from. Add a dual translated line on-device if you want one. Those local captions are ready to edit and export straight away, including offline.
After a one-time yes, Captionry can polish the caption text with AI. Tap any word to correct it, turn AI polish off in Settings, and export a watermark-free MP4 to Photos, TikTok, Reels or Shorts. Your videos are then listed in My Videos. A skipped or failed AI step leaves your captions as they were.
